The Perfect English Spy by Tom Bower
'Perfect' hardly applies to the way many operations, as recounted here, were conducted by Britain's intelligence services between 1935 and 1990. 'Calamitous' seems more appropriate, but if you wryly enjoy descriptions of official 'cock-ups', this is a book for you.
