The Changeling |
The 1950's story of a well-meaning but naive Glasgow schoolmaster who takes a talented slum pupil, already embarked on a life of petty crime, on a family summer holiday to the west coast of Scotland. The families of the teacher and boy react in different ways with a lasting impact on both the teacher's family and the boy himself. It all comes to a dramatic conclusion. The shifting dynamics are subtly portrayed in an absolutely cracking story. (Tony Pratt - bwl 92 Spring 2019) |
