The Smoke Jumper |
If you liked 'The Horse Whisperer', you will like this one as well. There is the tragic love story, a woman torn between two best friends, the beauty of the wild countryside of the American West. Of course, it's very romantic and predictably it ends well, but who cares? It's perfect for a rainy autumn weekend.

The Smoke Jumper |
This is about smoke jumping people: very fit young men, in Montana and probably other American states, who are dropped into or just outside major forest fires and, by cutting fire-breaks or fire-walls, prevent fires from spreading and eventually put them out. A cracking good tale and unputdownable. By the author of The Horse Whisperer, but better still.
