There are blind-alleys, misdirection and surprises throughout with the usual completely unexpected twist at the end. Like Holmes, Rhyme, a quadriplegic, solves his mysteries using his mind (helped by modern technology). I love the detail and nail-biting excitement. Polished, no - but gripping.
