Where the Crawdads Sing |
This is a heartbreaking tale of a little girl growing up alone in the swamps of North Carolina, but it's also a story of murder, prejudice, nature, love and family. It may be a little far-fetched at times but it's captivating, beautifully written, and the characters are vivid and real. The author is a wildlife scientist and it really shows through her descriptions of the natural world around little Kya. A lovely read. (Annie Noble - bwl 97 Summer 2020) |
