War Doctor |
Surgery on the front line: Nott - a consultant general and vascular surgeon - decided, after qualifying, to volunteer to work in disaster and war zones, taking unpaid leave from the NHS, as and when needed. It is very technical and graphic in its detail of the circumstances and dangerous situations in which he must operate. A driven man, often neglecting his private family, who considers his fellow workers as family. I have mixed feelings on his reasons for writing it. (Shirley Williams - bwl 93 Spring 2019) |
