This is a beautifully written story of a dysfunctional family set in the seething cauldron of Oxford academic life. It is a jolly tale of self harm, adolescent sex and marital betrayal laced with wit and the telling phrase. It makes me think how lucky I was to be spared the lofty spires and end up treading the boards. (David Graham - bwl 50 March 2009) |
